Amigos Library Services Professional Development Award for ER&L The Electronic Resources and Libraries (ER&L) 19th Annual Conference takes place March 3-6, 2024. Amigos' sponsorship of the conference will provide free conference registration to staff from multiple libraries across the country. The application for the Amigos Library Services Professional Development Award is openthrough January 23, 2024 and award winners notified on January 30, 2024.
DOAJ: Criteria, Indexing and 2023 Highlights Register todayto join Amigos partner, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) for their February 21st webinar to go through some basics of what DOAJ is and how it is used. The session will provide an overview of the criteria for inclusion in DOAJ, and stages of the application process once a journal has applied to be indexed. Highlights from 2023, including data on applications processed, the DOAJ at 20 celebrations, and the new pricing model from 2024 onwards will also be reviewed.

Amigos Library Services Invites Nominations for Board of Directors The Amigos Nominating Committee is accepting nominations from individuals interested in serving on the Amigos Board of Directors. The 2024 election ballot, sent to members in April, will include candidates for four positions on the board – three board of directors positions for representatives from member institutions and one board of directors position for an independent representative.
Each position serves three years on the board (terms expiring June 2027).
Voting is scheduled for Monday April 15 to Friday April 26, 2024. Results of the election will be announced during the May 15, 2024, annual Amigos Member Business Meeting.

Jennifer Baxmeyer to keynote "Creative Solutions in Cataloging, Acquisitions, and Resources Management" Register today for the online conference, "Creative Solutions in Cataloging, Acquisitions, and Resources Management". Jennifer Baxmeyer, Assistant University Librarian for Metadata Services at Princeton University Library and the lead volunteer cataloger for LiteracyNation Inc., will present the keynote presentation, "Where Do We Go From Here?".

The January 22ndKnow & Go: AI Tools & Library Instruction will be led by Tracey Mendoza and Erin Cassity from the University of the Incarnate Word in Texas. Jeremey Brett, Curator of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Collection at Texas A&M University's Cushing Memorial Library and Archives will lead the January 29 Know & Go: What’s New in Science Fiction and Fantasy. And the February 26 Know & Go: Using TikTok at Your Library will feature staff from the Harris County (Texas) Public Library. Know & Go sessions are FREE for member libraries.
